What You Can Expect From Next Generation Volleyball Club
We understand that as a player for Next Generation Volleyball Club, you are buying a service. It is our goal to deliver that service to you on an exceptional basis. We want your experience with NGVC to be positive and rewarding. We recognize that with any type of team sport, it will be difficult to please 100% of the players or parents 100% of the time. You can expect that our coaches are well trained and will treat you with respect. You can expect that the club facilities will be safe and clean. You can expect that we will provide the number of practices and tournaments that have been promised. And you can expect that the Club Staff will be approachable and will return phone calls or emails timely.

Training Philosophy
It is NGVC’s philosophy that every player in the club receives the highest level of training possible. We have spent several hours creating a training plan for our teams.

The philosophy of NGVC is that players will learn all of the positions of volleyball. It is the club’s goal that players are able to play as many positions at possible. Only at the 15-18 & Under ages will players begin to concentrate on a specific position.

Will there be a parent meeting at tryouts? No. Tryouts are a very stressful time for our staff, parents, and players. Our staff will be focusing on evaluating players. If you have any questions please contact us by phone or email.

What should I bring to tryouts?
You should bring your volleyball equipment, a water bottle and your tryout fee. We will have all the paperwork available at tryouts for you to fill out.

How long are tryouts?
We have allotted 2.5-3 hours for each tryout session.

What age group do I tryout for?Age classifications are determined by the age a player is as of September 1, 2011. For example, if your daughter turns 14 on July 10, 2011 she would be classified as 14 & Under. However, if she turns 14 September 17, 2011 she would be classified as 13 & Under. If you have a question about what age group your daughter should tryout for, please contact us.

Can I "play up" an age group?
You may "play up" if you are in the graduating class of the older group, e.g. a 14-year-old freshman may play with U-15. If you are considered an "IMPACT" player at the upper level (would be a starter on the team), you may "play up". You must advise our staff of your intention to tryout at the older age group. You MUST tryout at your correct age group as well.

Can I play another sport and participate with Next Generation Volleyball Club?
The simple answer is yes. Players must choose the team level, which suits them best. All National level teams must be the first priority of each player. Athletes on these teams can play other sports as long as NGVC is the number one priority. NGVC reserves the right to move players down if they are continually missing due to other sport or other commitments. Athletes on our Travel, State and Local level teams are permitted to play winter and/or spring sports without any penalties. If players do miss practice they will be missing important instruction from the coach which may affect playing time.

What if I cannot make the posted tryout for my age/level?
If you can't make the regular tryout, send an email to info@nextgenerationvolleyball.com to schedule a makeup session.

Can I watch my child tryout?
YES, parents are allowed and encouraged to watch tryouts.

Once I am selected to a team, when will I begin practices?
National Level: DecemberTravel Level: JanuaryState Level: Mid-FebruaryLocal Level: January or March, players have the option of a Winter or Spring season

What if my middle school team season is in the winter?
If you attend a school that has not switched the volleyball season to the fall there is no need to worry. We still have programs for you. If you will be competing with a school team during the winter the best choice would be to play on a Travel, State or Local level team. This will allow you to participate on both teams without penalty or missing events.

Where do teams practice?
All National level teams must be able to practice at all of our locations. All players selected to Travel, State and Local level teams will have their choice of practice location. Players will be able to choose between our east locations (Rochester Hills, Warren) and west locations (Novi, Orchard Lake)
